Jumpstart is a tech-enabled capacity building program that allows grantmakers to strengthen nonprofit resilience and accelerate their community impact. The year-long program provides nonprofits with one-on-one personal  coaching and fundraising software, helping them raise more money, save time, and build long-term sustainability. 

We partner with foundations and grantmakers who are committed to building more equitable communities by supporting the capacity building needs and financial resilience of nonprofits. 

Before formalizing a partnership, our team works with foundations and grantmakers to conduct a grantee needs assessment to identify each organization's unique strengths and areas for improvement, which allows us to tailor the program to their specific needs. 

Grantmakers will co-invest alongside Bonterra to provide funding for the Jumpstart program. We will then recommend and help you identify nonprofit organizations to participate in the program and support their onboarding. Grantmakers will receive regular updates on the progress of their grantees and see measurable outcomes , including increased revenue and improved fundraising capacity. 

Personal fundraising coaches are fundraising professionals with years of development experience who work with participating nonprofits to build and refine their fundraising strategy, effectively utilize their fundraising software, craft a compelling impact story, and more. At the start of the program, nonprofits can choose from a pool of experienced coaches with an average of 19 years of fundraising expertise. By harnessing the collective knowledge of our experienced coaches, Jumpstart meets nonprofits where they are, working together to transform their fundraising operations.
