The potential reversal of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court of the United States is of grave concern to many.
I’m personally concerned about what a reversal would mean for women, nonconforming folk, families, and underserved communities throughout the country. I’m also sad about how a threat to safe, healthy options for pregnant people is personally impacting many of our own team members and customers we work alongside every day.
Since we launched Bonterra six weeks ago, we’ve talked a lot about our brand, our technology, and our purpose to power the people who power social impact. To champion the doers of social good and serve as an optimistic advocate for our customers and the market. Today we take our purpose even more to heart.
This is a critical time for our customers who support reproductive rights and use our software to drive advocacy and donations. Since the leak was announced last night, we have seen a spike of 600% in site traffic for these customers, including Planned Parenthood, NARAL, Lilith Fund, Yellowhammer Fund, National Women's Law Center and others. Together, they have raised over $4M in the past 18 hours. It’s likely that this volume and velocity will continue.
While we haven’t shared it externally until now, Bonterra recently developed a company-wide Acceptable Use Policy that includes a commitment to customers who support efforts to advance racial equity, LGBTQ+ equity, climate protection, and reproductive choice.
For those of you looking to take meaningful action, we’ve developed a short list of resources below.
We will continue to monitor this as it evolves and add resources to this list. We will also continue to support organizations that champion reproductive choice and those organizations we have committed to as part of our Acceptable Use Policy.
One of our core values is to cultivate inclusivity and unlock the best in all of us. We will continue to advocate with that goal in mind.
