Chelsea Peterson Thompson is the general manager of NGP VAN—the leading technology provider to progressive campaigns and organizations. In this role, Chelsea brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in all aspects of campaign operations, guiding overall strategy and day-to-day operations to serve NGP VAN’s customers across organizing, digital, fundraising, and compliance products. Prior to serving as GM, Chelsea was SVP of sales at NGP VAN, leading the team to record growth quarter-over-quarter for nearly six years, expanding the team’s coverage to new markets and products, and tripling the size of the sales team.
Before joining NGP VAN, Chelsea managed campaigns and programs at the federal, state, and local levels. During the 2010 cycle, she served as Midwest Regional Field Director for the DCCC, overseeing field operations in 13 states. Prior to 2010, Chelsea worked on then-Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign, as well as Senate and Congressional campaigns in Nevada and her home state of South Dakota. As a longtime campaigner and self-described data nerd, Chelsea is proud to have joined the NGP VAN family and to be able to focus on her long-time passion for helping progressive candidates run data-driven campaigns and elect more women to public office. Chelsea resides in her adopted state of Maryland with her wife and two sons.
