Insights within Bonterra CyberGrants

This training module introduces Insights within Bonterra CyberGrants and the strategic approach to transforming organizational data into meaningful, actionable insights. Throughout the session, participants are guided through the purpose and capabilities of the Insights platform, learning how it supports informed decision-making by enabling users to explore trends, measure program performance, and communicate impact through interactive dashboards and custom reports.

The training highlights the distinct roles that contribute to a successful reporting experience. Participants will gain an understanding of the Viewer role, which is designed for users who consume and interact with dashboards by applying filters, exploring visualizations, and exporting reports to support operational and strategic discussions. The session also explores the expanded capabilities of the Analyst role, which empowers users to build reports from the ground up using the Analyze tab, create custom measures and calculations, combine datasets, and develop dashboards that provide meaningful insights across programs and initiatives. Together, these roles create a collaborative reporting ecosystem where Analysts design and deliver data experiences while Viewers leverage those insights to monitor performance, evaluate outcomes, and make confident business decisions.

Beyond learning the technical features of the platform, this training emphasizes the importance of asking the right business questions before analyzing data. Participants are encouraged to think beyond operational reporting and instead use Insights to identify trends, uncover opportunities, evaluate program effectiveness, and support organizational strategy. Through guided demonstrations and real-world scenarios, learners will explore how to navigate dashboards effectively, build reports that answer key business questions, apply filters accurately, and share findings with stakeholders in a way that drives meaningful action.

A core focus of the training is helping users transform data into compelling stories that resonate with decision-makers. Participants will learn a practical framework for interpreting data by moving from observation to interpretation, and ultimately to action, ensuring that reports communicate not only what the data shows, but also why it matters and what steps should be taken next. This storytelling approach enables organizations to present program outcomes, demonstrate impact, and support executive decision-making with greater clarity and confidence.

By the end of the training, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of the complete Insights reporting lifecycle—from exploring datasets and building reports in the Analyze tab to publishing dashboards, interacting with visualizations, and sharing results across their organization. More than simply learning how to generate reports, participants will develop the skills and confidence to transform data into strategic insights that drive organizational performance, strengthen stakeholder communication, and maximize the value of their CyberGrants reporting experience.
